Summary: Under the supervision of the Executive Manager of Human Resources & Risk, the primary assignment of the Benefits Specialist will be to assist with the overall management of employee benefits, medical insurance, life insurance, dental, vision, disability, and others as required. Will assist in researching benefits, obtaining quotes, compiling data for renewals, and benefit audits.They will also be responsible for assisting with all aspects of Human Resources i.e. personnel files and records management, employment, recruitment, claims management, medical leaves, employee benefits, worker’s compensation liability insurance and others as required.
Qualifications: Five years of experience in Human Resources with experience in developing and implementing employee benefits, with thorough knowledge of office practices and employee benefits procedures. Must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff. Summary: Under the direction of Property Management Director, plans and provides supervision and oversight for daily maintenance operations and activities in a portfolio of approximately 300 units along with specialized and general laborers and, when required, subcontractors. Works with an assigned crew, and determines from inspection of premises the work to be performed and the manpower required. Supervises and evaluates the work of the maintenance staff. Works directly with the Property Maintenance Specialist.
Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years skilled or semi-skilled construction, property maintenance. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience. HUD REAC experience for subsidized low-income housing. Must possess a California Driver’s License, with a clean driving record, and possess vehicle insurance.

Summary:
The Irrigation Specialist performs landscaping services to WLCAC owned properties and isresponsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and effectively. Must be familiar with required vehicles and powered equipment, fertilizing, pruning shrubbery/trees, safe handling of equipment and materials and maintaining lawns.
Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 3 years landscaping experience working on commercial/residential properties. Must be able to install irrigation systems, including piping, valves, sprinkler heads, and controllers. Must have a current California driver’s license, acceptable automobile insurance, and a good driving record. Able to work in a standing position for up to 8 hours per day and meet the physical demands of the job in outdoor environments.

POSITION: MAINTENANCE WORKER
Non-exempt/full-time
Summary: Under the supervision of the Property Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for the overall physical operation of assigned site portfolio; commercial and residential properties. Will perform assigned tasks relating to the upkeep, repair and maintenance of WLCAC properties, including but not limited to, buildings, mechanical, plumbing, heating and electrical systems of assigned properties. Responsible for unit turnover process – unit preparation after move-out i.e., paint, patch holes, clean carpet, repair or replace tiles, removing debri etc. Able to assess property issues or potential problems with the Residential Manager and outline steps for correction.
Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years experience in property maintenance or comparable position. Must possess excellent communication in order to deal with difficult customers and/or tenants. Construction training and certification in a trade, i.e. plumbing, electrical etc. Ability to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds. HUD REAC experience is preferred. Bilingual, English/Spanish is a plus.

POSITION: NUTRITION DRIVER
Non-exempt/full-time
Summary: Under the Supervision of the Food Coordinator, the Nutrition Driver is responsible for delivering meals to home-bound elderly and/or disabled program participants and congregate meal sites. Will need to operate a vehicle equipped with both hot and cold units for door-to-door service, prepare and unload food containers, complete records of time, mileage, and other data requested by the supervisor. Complete daily inspections and maintenance of work vehicles and record, submit any donations received from the clients, and distribute any notices/information that may be required of the program.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age (as required by insurance coverage) with a minimum of 1 year of driving experience in delivery service. Possess a valid Class C California Driver’s License, with an acceptable driving record. Drug testing will be part of the screening process for new employees and you must submit to random drug testing periodically as part of your provision of employment. Have familiarity with preventative vehicle maintenance. Obtain a Food Handlers permit and ability to lift 50 lbs or more.

SENIOR SERVICES DIVISION
POSITION: PASSENGER DRIVER

Summary:
Under the supervision of the Program Director and Program Manager, the Prop A Driver will be responsible for picking up senior clients at their doors, assisting each client into the vehicle, securing wheelchair tie down and seat belts when necessary, driving the Proposition A vehicle, assisting clients to the door of destination and collecting voluntary contributions for the trip. They will maintain the safety of passengers, documenting if a client has been injured while riding on, boarding or departing from the vehicle. The driver will be aware of all emergency procedures and maintain vehicles in good driving and sanitary conditions. Drivers must complete daily Safety Inspection Reports each day prior to picking up their passengers.
Qualifications:
The driver is required to have a valid Class B California driver’s license and medical examination certificate, and the driver’s permit issued by the City Board of Transportation Commissioners. Driver must possess a current American Red Cross Standard first aid card or its equivalent cardiopulmonary resuscitation training. Drug testing will be part of the screening process for new employees and you must submit to random drug testing periodically as part of your provision of employment. Must comply with all program training procedures before operating the Proposition A vehicle. Must have the capability to operate special equipment on the vehicle, such as wheelchair ramps, lifts, or wheelchair tie downs. Must ensure all passengers abide by safety regulations.

POSITION: CASE MANAGER

Summary: Under the supervision of the Program Director and Program Manager, the Case Manager is responsible for providing case management services which includes comprehensive assessment of senior clients, development of a care plan, coordination of services, and client follow-up. Responsibilities include in-home assessments, completing paper documentation and entry into software systems for the City of Los Angeles, maintaining contact with clients, monitoring progress and assessing needs for additional services. Writing accurate client assessment letters, emails, and other forms of communication. Provide members of the senior community and clients with referrals and follow-up to ensure services have been rendered.
Qualifications:
2 years of experience in the human services field and/or 2 or more years working with older adults and at-risk populations. Must be organized, computer literate, pass required evidence-based program certifications, able to communicate effectively with others and have excellent time management skills. Summary:

Summary: Under the supervision of the Fleet Manager and Senior Mechanic, the Junior Mechanic position requires a candidate with strong core skills in automotive maintenance and repair. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, assisting Senior Mechanic in diagnosing and fixing automotive mechanical issues, maintaining a clean and organized mechanic shop, following safety protocols and guidelines while working on vehicles and assisting in repair of small engines (e.g. leaf blowers, chainsaws, lawn mowers, trimmers, etc.)
Qualifications:
Must have at least 5 years of professional experience and have experience working on gasoline fueled cars, vans, and trucks. Be experienced with tune ups, brakes, carburetors, cooling systems, and minor electrical repair. Must have basic mechanics tools and knowledge of diesel, 2 and 4 cycle small engine equipment is a plus. Knowledge of classic cars is a big plus.

Summary: Under the supervision of the Green Initiatives Division Director, provides ongoing support for internal staff and partners. Responsible for providing Work-Based Learning services and elated training services to eligible youth ages fourteen (14) to twenty-four (24) who reside in the City of Los Angeles. This program provides paid
work experience for a target population that included eligible youth from CalWORKs, in foster care, on
probation, who are homeless, who receive general relief, or are from low income households.
Qualifications: At least 5 years of supervision experience working with the youth population. Experience working with diverse populations in the service area. Must have exceptional organizational multitasking skills, ability to motivate and
encourage employees, upbeat and positive outgoing personality, passion for quality of workmanship, willingness
to go above and beyond to get the job done and astonishing work ethics. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word,

POSITION: FARM MANAGER

Summary: Responsible for program oversight and management of the growing grounds at MudTown Farms and its satellite sites including all farm production-related activities, providing direct supervision and support to farm assistants, apprentices, and working closely with other staff and volunteers who provide educational programming on-site. MudTown Farms is a 2.5-acre site in the heart of the Watts community. Responsibilities include Plan and implement crop production, rotation, harvest schedules, growing techniques; Develop systems to track crop planning, bed rotation, and yields; operation and maintenance of irrigation systems; train, instruct staff and volunteers; Assist with refining curriculum of the Watts Certified Grower’s Certification Program.
Qualifications: Four years’ experience managing a farm or farm programs in an urban setting, demonstrated experience with farm machinery operation and working with a low stress livestock operation and performing duties such as fence building and maintenance is required. Four years or more in supervision of staff and program oversight. Self-motivated, cooperative, and flexible, ability to work independently; experience using organic/biodynamic principles; Familiar with indigenous growing practices and crops; Experience working with farm machinery, carpentry skills, and interest in working with youth and diverse populations, Fluent in English and Spanish speaking a plus.

POSITION: YOUTH YARDNER

Summary: Under the direction of the Farm Manager, the Youth Yardners will assist with community outreach and engagement. The Youth Yardner will also maintain the growing grounds and all farm-related activities as well as provide support for all installation and maintenance of neighborhood-based garden installations.
This is a 24-month position for approximately 30 hours per week. Must complete the Watts Growers Certification training; assist with plant production and maintenance of the growing grounds; assist volunteer with community-based garden installations in the Program; assist residents with long-term maintenance of community –based garden installations; assist with community engagement and outreach for farm activities and programming; support composting efforts.
Qualifications: Youth ages 18-24; no prior farm or gardening experience required; effective verbal and written communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required along with interest in urban agriculture, gardening, or farming; willingness to learn.

POSITION: FARM ASSISTANT/EDUCATOR

Summary: Under the direction of the Farm Manager, the Farm Assistant/Educator will assist with the maintenance of the growing grounds; provide support for neighborhood-based garden installations and all other farm=related activities. This position will also participate in the implementation of educational programming with various groups and populations. Responsibilities include: assist with plant production and maintenance of the growing grounds; assist with the implementation of the Watts Certified Grower’s Certifications Program; facility classroom and online farm training, and garden workshops; assist with coordination of community-based garden installations; provide mentoring and coaching volunteers and youth trainees; assist with community engagement and outreach; provide clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and administrative paperwork; work with Service Coordinator with data collection, program monitoring and reporting.
Qualifications: Minimum of two years’ experience working on a farm or urban agricultural setting; demonstrated knowledge and experience with planting, pest management, irrigation, lite farm machinery operation, and performing farm duties such a building raised beds, building berms, trellising, and companion planting. Effective verbal and written communication skills required; organizational skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel. Cultural sensitivity and ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required., self-motivated, cooperative, and flexible working with farm machinery, working with youth and youth programs, ability to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish.

Summary: To plan, coordinate, and supervise all phases of construction, renovation, maintenance and repair projects consisting of housing restoration projects as required under the City and County Handyworker Programs and Sempra Energy Weatherization Programs; Supervises the overall activities of WLCAC’s Property Restoration staff, skilled and unskilled laborers. Maintains good public relations through personal contacts with representatives of mass media and various other agencies and organizations of common interest and distribute literature regarding program services.
Responsible for recruiting more disabled and elderly clients by scheduling meetings, giving talks and explaining the services provided under the Handyworker programs. Provides information to the public regarding the program using mass communication media, such as radio, television, newspapers, magazines, reports and photographs.
Develops a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of project/s.

Summary: Under the supervision of the Facility and Property Maintenance Managers, the Warehouse Worker is responsible for overall operation of the warehouse. They will perform an array of functions that may include: maintaining inventory, checking equipment in and out, maintaining the equipment in ready to use status, receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, along with managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse.
