Bajo el liderazgo del presidente y director ejecutivo Timothy Watkins Sr., WLCAC lanz\u00f3 la Iniciativa Better Watts en 2016 con los socios Black Community Health Task Force, Physicians for Social Responsibility LA, LA Right to Housing Collective y la Universidad Estatal de California Dominguez Hills. La ICM es una colaboraci\u00f3n de miembros de la comunidad y grupos organizados por la justicia ambiental en Watts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nuestra primera reuni\u00f3n del ayuntamiento se llev\u00f3 a cabo el 31 de enero de 2016 para presentar a los miembros de la comunidad los problemas de la falta de suficiente aire, tierra y agua limpios. Los ayuntamientos subsiguientes brindaron una actualizaci\u00f3n del progreso en torno a las pruebas de suelo en el Proyecto de Vivienda de Jordan Downs, discutieron la falta de agua limpia en los hogares locales que bordean Central Avenue y el derecho de paso del ferrocarril, revisaron los problemas de equidad y contaminaci\u00f3n y presentaron activistas de estudiantes graduados locales .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
